Project Description:
The objectives of this consultancy were to:
Assessing the capacity of the private sector to enable the enactment of AKAH’s GHG Policy and integrate carbon-efficient operations and climate change resilience into major programs, including construction, habitat planning, and development programs such as WASH and Integrated Solid Waste Management, aligning with the context of Afghanistan.
Developing processes and guidelines for green development, as well as climate change mitigation and adaptation, within AKAH’s Habitat Planning, Safe & Resilient Construction, and Development programs.
Creating an implementation program (projects, activities, and initiatives tailored to the Afghan context and involving community and institutions) for AKAH-A.
Producing Carbon Efficient, and Green Guidelines and an Implementation Manual based on best practices from international institutions, providing clear actions, tools, templates, and processes for planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance. This manual also covers offsetting of new and incremental retrofitting and upgrades of existing buildings, along with other AKAH development programs.
